Boxing tip #1 : Classic jab basics
The bread and butter of boxing is the jab. With the right footwork, you can easily win a fight with the jab alone. It sets up every other punch. It breaks the rhythm and maintains distance of your opponent. Muhammad ali is the master of the jab.
This is my take on the classic jab and is taken right of Bruce Lee's Jeet Kune Do jab and the one inch punch. Your hand should be loose, not tightly held and wrist should be slightly downward. Once you throw the punch, at the moment of impact, wrist should be slightly upward and you try to land it with the last two knuckles.
Here's my amateur video clip on the classic jab.
